Winnipeg 150

What an incredible afternoon we had on June 2nd, 2024, celebrating Winnipeg 150!

Thanks to a generous donation from councillor Shawn Dobson and the hard work of Bord-Aires' dedicated volunteers, community members were invited to join us for an afternoon of family fun. The event was filled with a variety of activities for all ages, including classic lawn games, bouncy castles for the kids, and a fantastic vendors market for the adults. The air was filled with the aroma of freshly cooked hot dogs and burgers from The Burger Place, adding to the festive atmosphere. As families enjoyed their meals, we had the privilege of live music performed by the talented Norah Erickson, creating a lively and enjoyable ambiance.

Families got to partake in a special visit from Winnipeg's dedicated firefighters, who showed our young ones the life-saving gear they wear and the important parts of the fire engine that keep our community safe.

The Burger Place did not disappoint, serving freshly cooked hot dogs and burgers hot off the sizzling grill. While families enjoyed their meals, we had the privilege of live music performed by the talented Norah Erickson!

Mystery and magic captivated the minds of all ages at the afternoon magic show with the fabulous Alex J Ham! His out-of-this-world balloon creations were a huge hit, bringing smiles to everyone who was lucky enough to get one before the thunderstorm hit!

The success of the afternoon was a testament to the diversity and vibrancy of our shared city. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the event was enjoyable for our fantastic community. We also express our gratitude to The Burger Place for their delicious BBQ, Councillor Shawn Dobson and his team for their generous donation, and the talented vendors who shared their wares with us. Special thanks to our guests Norah Erickson, Alex J. Hamm, and the Winnipeg City Fire Department, whose presence added a special touch to the event.
